Recreation in Berea

Although Berea is a small college town students have mediocre access to public outdoor recreational areas both college owned and government owned. Below are links to the Natural Bridge and Red River Gorge areas. While visiting Berea it is highly recommended that you take a day off to visit Red River Gorge or what locals have termed "The Red." In the photography section are photos of the Natural Bridge and Red River Gorge area. The photography section also contains photos of the nearby college forest. The college forest comprises the Anglin Falls, Indian Fort Theater, Resevoirs, and Owsley Fork regions. There are approximately 12 miles of trails on several thousand acres of real-estate. Also in the Maps section is a topography map of the region with a few selected popular trails. These trails receive most of the traffic on the weekend so if you are looking for serenity you may want to go during the week or late Sunday.
