Favorite Movies and Assorted Reviews
(NOTE this is not a complete list and will continue to grow as well as add additional descriptions and reviews)

Winners (Two Thumbs up)
Comedy:Animal House, Parenthood (Basically Steve Martin and Rick Moranis are very cool), Big, Blues Brothers, Stripes, Emma/Clueless (should be watched together ideally), Planes Trains and Automobiles, Field of Dreams, Bull Durham, Hercules, Beauty and the Beast, 1942 (In general, any John Belushi movie is worth watching), Little Mermaid (Spunky Brewster gets a tail..nice and clean kids entertainment), Toy Story (Tom Hanks is great as the cowboy)
Drama:Philadelphia, Shindler's List, Terms of Endearment, Ordinary People, Courage Under Fire, Malcolm X, LA Confidential, Evening Star (ToE sequel...very underated), Apollo 13 (Nice tech work and plot is riveting, even if you know the outcome from history books)
Action:Die Hard, Terminator, Alien, Aliens (sequel surpasses original), Alien 3 (not as good as Aliens but still solids SciFi with lots of plot twists), Jurassic Park, Aliens, Independance Day (ID4, maybe should go under comedy), Star Wars trilogy (especially new and improved versions without Ewok song at end of Jedi), Star Trek (I,II,III,VI), Lost World (though plot is kinda weak), Men in Black (see ID4)

Losers (Two Thumbs down)
Comedy:Police Academy (Any), Coneheads, Adam Sandler Movies (any), David Spade Movies (any), Titanic (ship sinking is kinda funny though....), Chris Farley Movies (any, though sad to see another dead SNL fat guy), Blues Brothers 2000 (maybe should have let the sleeping dogs lie..), Pocahantus (Disney generally is good, but not when they change history too much), Hunchback of Notre Dame (umm...didnt Quasimodo DIE in the book? See Pocahantus)
Drama:Safe, Kids (I don't need to see 13 year old AIDS infected drug addicts mess up their lives), Legend of the Fall (WW I machine gun scene makes the film..along with bear fight at the end), The Net, Speed 2 (Cruise stupidity..), Blue Velvet (too much weirdness), From the Earth to the Moon (HBO Series, not bad on tech stuff, but spends too little time on the fun things and plenty of time on stupidity, especially the apollo 13 episode..who CARES about the damn newsman...and the last two episodes...wives troubles.... filmmaker stupidity.... BORING)
Action:Star Trek (IV,V), Star Trek Generations (good effects), Contact (good tech first half), Godzilla (another non-dinosaur movie..), Deep Impact (gosh, comets are scary..)
