Chemistry Senior Seminar
CHM 492
-
In this course students (normally seniors) present a written and oral review
of a current research topic in chemistry chosen by one of the Berea College
chemistry faculty. This is much like a journal club presentation might
be as a graduate student in a large research group in a Ph.D. program.
-
Outside research seminars are brought into the classroom to present modern
research from local universities.
Campus Actvities
Communication Across Campus (CAC4) -
This group is made up of faculty from all disciplines on campus. The
purpose is to discuss what works and what doesn't work in teaching undergraduate
classes. By sharing ideas and opinions that work in our areas we can learn
what might help other who think differently.
American Chemical Society Student Affiliates (ACSSA) -
We bring in speakers as well as plan field trips throughout the school
year. This broadens the overall experience of our chemistry students and
provides an opportunity to see what the real world has in store for them.
