Cite Your Sources

You have spent a large amount of time researching your topic and integrating the information you have found into your project. The next step is to cite your sources. Remember, to avoid plagiarism, you must give credit to the original sources of your research.

In this section, you will learn:

  • To create in-text citations using the MLA format.
  • To create works cited (reference list) citations in the MLA format.

Note: There are numerous citation styles (such as MLA, APA and Chicago styles) that have slightly different rules for citing sources. Within BOOST, we will primarily focus on the MLA citation style.

If you are not sure which citation style to use, consult your assignment description or ask your instructor.

Determine which citation style you will be using for your assignment. In the spcace below, type in the citation style you will be using.
