BANC (Berea's Automated Networked Catalog)...

...is the primary tool used to locate materials in the Hutchins Library Collection. BANC is used to find books and periodicals (journals and magazines) as well as websites, videos, CDs, and DVDs. BANC is also useful for answering other information requests, such as locating items on reserve. The tutorials listed to the left will help you learn to navigate and use BANC.

You can move through the tutorials sequentially by clicking on the "Start TITLE Search Tutorial" below and clicking on the "Go To Next Tutorial--->" link at the bottom of each tutorial.


If you need to complete the BANC Orientation Quiz:

  1. Starting with the TITLE Search tutorial, complete all BANC Tutorials as listed on the left. A link at the bottom of each tutorial will take you to the next tutorial. Try the "Quick Assessments" at the bottom of each tutorial to apply what you have learned.
  2. After finishing the tutorials, open a new window for BANC for use during the quiz.
  3. Then click HERE to take the FALL 2005 BANC Orientation Quiz or click the "2005 BANC Orientation Quiz" link at the bottom of the last tutorial.
