Locating Reserve Materials

Many professors put books, CDs, videos or other items on Reserve in the Library in order to provide their students access to the item(s) for a limited amount of time. Items placed on Reserve are kept at the Circulation Desk. Before requesting a reserved item from the Circulation Desk, you must have the items call number.

  • To begin your seach for reserve materials, access the Hutchins Library Home Page.

  • Click the Search button (as highlighted below) underneath "BANC."

  • After gaining access to BANC, click on the Course Reserves tab (as shown below).

  • In the "Instructor" drop-down box, click on Beagle, Martha [1 below].

  • Click Search [2 below] or press enter.

  • On the results page (shown below in truncated form) you will see the title(s) of the item(s) on reserve as well as the department and course information for which the item is reserved. Results are displayed alphabetically by title with 10 entries per page. If you do not see the item you need listed on the first page, you may have to go to the following pages to view additional items.

  • Notice that the record provides the Call Number (highlighted) of each of the items on Reserve and tells the number of items the professor has on hold.
