Basic Online Orientation Skills Tutorial

BOOST will familiarize you with both the college research process and the resources provided by Berea College's Hutchins Library.

BOOST Basics

• BOOST is designed to help you complete assignments requiring library research. To be successful, you should use each module of BOOST when it is useful in completing your assignment. Do not try to complete all of BOOST in one sitting; take your assignment, and BOOST, one module at a time.

• If your instructor asks you to answer the questions throughout BOOST, be sure to answer them with a particular research assignment in mind--otherwise many of the questions will not be meaningful to you!

• To save your responses to questions throughout BOOST, be sure to login. To add an answer, click the "Add to Worksheet" button below each question blank. To check that your answers are saved, click the "View Worksheet" link at the top of each screen.
