Tenure Track Faculty Position Search
Assistant Professor of Organic Chemistry

This tenure track assistant professor position requires a Ph.D. in organic chemistry (or equivalent degree). Post-doctoral research and teaching experience are highly desirable. Candidates who bring a strong background in synthetic organic chemistry will be given strongest consideration. The successful candidate will be capable of teaching organic chemistry, advanced organic chemistry, nursing chemistry and advanced laboratory courses. The new faculty member will also be expected to contribute regularly to the general education curriculum at Berea College. As with all tenure-track faculty at Berea College, there is an expectation of excellent teaching and of conducting research (securing both internal and external funding) with students as well as advising and other college activities. Interested applicants should send a letter of application, curriculum vitae, graduate and undergraduate academic transcripts, a statement of teaching philosophy, a description of a research program that would involve undergraduate collaborators and three letters of recommendation to: Dr. Jay Baltisberger, Chair Department of Chemistry, Berea College, CPO 1722, Berea, KY 40404. Female and minority candidates are especially encouraged to apply. Consideration of applicants will begin Fall 2008; applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
Berea College, in light of its mission in the tradition of impartial love and social equality, welcomes all people of the earth to learn and work here.
